Watch Jonathan Bailey discuss Wicked: For Good
Jonathan Bailey sat down with Hits Radio to discuss Wicked: For Good, which is out in cinemas now. Hear about all the easter eggs, the cast recordings that Jonny grew up loving and his dream musical role!
Wicked: For Good is the thrilling, emotional conclusion to the cinematic saga that began with Wicked. Reuniting the iconic cast — Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda — the film is directed by Jon M. Chu and promises a powerful finale rooted in friendship, identity and redemption.
In this second chapter, Elphaba lives in exile, hidden deep in the forest, continuing her fight for the oppressed Animals of Oz and working to expose the lies of the Wizard. Meanwhile, Glinda enjoys her role as the glowing symbol of goodness in Emerald City, reveling in fame and courtly privileges — even as she struggles with the distance from Elphaba.
As Glinda prepares for a grand wedding with Prince Fiyero, the rift between her and Elphaba grows more painful and more dangerous. Their fractured bond begins to reshape the lives of their closest allies: Boq, Fiyero and Elphaba’s sister Nessarose all face life-changing consequences. When unrest stirs among the people of Oz, and a mob rises against Elphaba, Glinda and Elphaba must confront one another with honesty, empathy and courage. Only by truly seeing each other — flaws and all — can they hope to rewrite their destinies and change Oz… for good.
Supported by a fantastic ensemble cast, including Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh, Wicked: For Good brings together epic fantasy, heartfelt drama and the unforgettable magic of the stage in a cinematic event not to be missed.
The film is produced by Marc Platt and David Stone, with a screenplay by Winnie Holzman (based on her own book) and a score by John Powell and Stephen Schwartz — rooted in the beloved Broadway musical and the original novel by Gregory Maguire.
