Criminal Record Season 2 gets April release date on Apple TV
Apple TV has dropped an early preview of season two of Criminal Record, the acclaimed crime thriller led by Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo. The eight-episode new season premieres globally on Wednesday, April 22, with fresh episodes rolling out weekly until the finale on June 10.
Created by Paul Rutman, the series is a sharp, character-focused drama set against the backdrop of modern-day London, digging into what happens when truth becomes slippery and policing turns political. In season two, the fatal stabbing of a young man at a political rally pulls rival detectives June Lenker and Daniel Hegarty into a reluctant partnership. What begins as a murder investigation quickly spirals into a covert mission to stop a far-right bombing threat at the center of the city.
Capaldi returns as Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty, alongside Jumbo reprising her role as Detective Sergeant June Lenker. The new season also welcomes Dustin Demri-Burns, Luca Pasqualino, Luther Ford, Lyndsey Marshal, and Peter Sullivan, joining returning cast members Shaun Dooley, Stephen Campbell Moore, and Charlie Creed-Miles.
Produced for Apple TV by Tod Productions in association with STV Studios, Criminal Record is executive produced by Elaine Collins, Paul Rutman, Capaldi, and Jumbo. Season two is directed by Ben A. Williams and Joelle Mae David.
