Review: Hits Radio Live in Birmingham was the best yet!

Hits Radio absolutely outdid themselves with this year’s Hits Radio Live at BP Pulse LIVE in Birmingham—and that’s saying something, because this was our third time attending this huge pop celebration. Somehow, they’ve managed to take an already brilliant event and elevate it to something truly unforgettable. Without a doubt, this was the biggest, best, and most family-friendly live music event we’ve ever been to, offering exceptional value for money and a level of production that felt world-class from start to finish.

The night opened with the impeccable Sonny Fodera, whose reputation as one of the most consistent and innovative names in house music was fully on show. His set was sleek, atmospheric and full of energy—and when Clementine Douglas stepped on stage, her soaring, soulful vocals took everything to the next level. Their chemistry was electric and completely set the tone for the night ahead.

Next up, JADE delivered an absolutely show-stopping performance. Effortlessly cool and vocally flawless, she launched straight into “FUFN” and had the entire arena in the palm of her hand. She closed with “Angel of My Dreams,” proving once again that she’s one of the UK’s most exciting rising stars—bold, dynamic and totally unforgettable live.

Cian Ducrot followed with a massive, emotionally charged set that cemented his status as a true pop force. His huge live band, powerful vocals, and epic staging created a stadium-sized atmosphere. His ability to connect with the audience—whether through heartfelt ballads or big anthems—made his performance one of the standout moments of the night.

Then came Alex Warren, who brought pure showmanship to the stage. His voice was pitch-perfect, his energy contagious, and his storytelling heartfelt. Even when a backstage fire alarm interrupted things, he bounced back with humour and charm, proving he’s not just a world-class performer but a natural entertainer.

After a short break, the arena erupted for Calvin Harris, and rightly so. Seeing the world’s biggest DJ deliver a colossal 30-minute hit-packed set felt like a genuine privilege. Every track was a crowd-pleaser, every drop hit hard, and his second collaboration of the night with Clementine Douglas gave the performance an extra layer of magic. It was the kind of set people will be talking about for years.

Jess Glynne then reminded everyone exactly why she remains pop royalty. With her signature powerhouse vocals and anthems that had the whole room dancing, she delivered a polished, joyful, feel-good performance packed with recognisable hits.

Finally, Myles Smith closed the night with warmth, sincerity and effortless musicianship. His rich vocals and heartfelt delivery brought the perfect ending to a night full of unforgettable moments.

Hits Radio Live once again proved why it’s one of the best live events in the country—a brilliantly delivered celebration of music, talent, and community. Whether you're a dedicated pop fan or looking for a fun, safe, family-friendly night out, this show delivers every time. We’re already counting down to next year! And tickets are already on sale!
