Sky unveils first look at Under Salt Marsh, a tense new crime drama set in coastal Wales

Sky has released a teaser trailer and a fresh collection of images for Under Salt Marsh, a compelling Sky Original drama unfolding in the imagined Welsh town of Morfa Halen. The series stars Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone, Pride & Prejudice) as Jackie Ellis and Rafe Spall (Trying, Life of Pi) as Detective Eric Bull.

Created, written, and directed by Claire Oakley (Make Up), the six-part drama begins as a powerful storm gathers offshore. When former detective-turned-teacher Jackie Ellis (Reilly) stumbles upon a disturbing discovery, old wounds from a three-year-old unsolved case resurface — a case that destroyed her career and fractured her family.

Drawn reluctantly back into the world she left behind, Jackie must team up once again with her estranged former partner, Eric Bull (Spall). Their renewed investigation exposes the dark undercurrents running beneath Morfa Halen — a close-knit community burdened by guilt, secrets, and loss — as time and the encroaching storm threaten to sweep away the truth for good.

The series features an outstanding ensemble cast including Naomi Yang (Chimerica), Jonathan Pryce (The Crown), Dinita Gohil (Treason), Brian Gleeson (Bad Sisters), Kimberley Nixon (Queenie), and Harry Lawtey (Industry). Under Salt Marsh weaves an evocative mystery with an intimate exploration of human resilience and the bonds that hold communities together.

Additional cast members include Mark Stanley (Happy Valley, The Reckoning), Dino Fetscher (Fool Me Once, Foundation), Lizzie Annis (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Extraordinary), Rhodri Meilir (Pren Ar y Bryn, Craith), and Julian Lewis Jones (House of the Dragon, The Wheel of Time).

Under Salt Marsh will debut on Sky and streaming service NOW in 2026.
