The Celebrity Traitors tipped to set new ratings record tonight

Get ready for the most devious showdown on television. The Celebrity Traitors is set to dominate the ratings tonight as Claudia Winkleman once again opens the castle doors—this time to a glittering lineup of famous faces who’ll battle it out in the ultimate game of trust, treachery, and betrayal.

The multi-award-winning psychological phenomenon The Traitors returns to BBC One and iPlayer this autumn with a nine-part celebrity edition that promises all the tension, twists, and shocking reveals fans have come to expect—only this time, the stakes are personal. The celebrities will compete to uncover (or conceal) the identities of the Traitors among them, all in the hope of winning up to £100,000 for their chosen charities.

Claudia Winkleman, once again presiding over the drama from the haunting Scottish Highlands, teased:

“We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks—but that would be a lie.”

And what a lineup it is. Joining Claudia for this star-studded edition are some of the biggest names from comedy, music, sport and broadcasting:

Alan Carr – Comedian
Cat Burns – Singer/Songwriter
Celia Imrie – Actor
Charlotte Church – Singer/Activist
Clare Balding – Broadcaster and Author
David Olusoga – Historian and Filmmaker
Joe Marler – Former England Rugby Player and Podcaster

Niko Omilana – Content Creator
Paloma Faith – Singer/Songwriter and Actor
Ruth Codd – Actor
Stephen Fry – Actor, Writer, Presenter
Tameka Empson – Actor and Comedian
Tom Daley – Olympian, Author, Broadcaster and Entrepreneur

It’s a dazzling ensemble that guarantees a clash of wits, egos, and emotions—each contestant convinced they can outsmart the others while forming alliances they may live (or be banished) to regret.

Since The Traitors first aired in 2022, the format has become a cultural juggernaut. Series three averaged an incredible 10.3 million viewers, with its premiere reaching 10.9 million—making it the biggest unscripted series since I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2022. Half of its audience now watches on iPlayer, cementing The Traitors as one of the BBC’s most streamed and talked-about shows, particularly among younger viewers (16–34s).

The show’s trophy cabinet tells its own story. The Traitors has scooped major honours including the BAFTA TV Award for Best Reality & Constructed Factual, the NTA for Reality Competition, and the RTS and Broadcasting Press Guild awards for Best Entertainment Programme. Claudia Winkleman herself has been recognised with the BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance and the RTS Award for Entertainment Performance, along with the *Edinburgh TV Festival’s Variety Outstanding Achievement Award.

With this glittering cast, the allure of charity, and Claudia’s trademark wit presiding over the castle’s shadowy corridors, The Celebrity Traitors looks set to become the must-watch television event of the year.
