When is The Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance 2025 on TV?
BBC One and iPlayer | Saturday 8 November | 9pm – 10.30pm
Senior Members of the Royal Family will attend The Royal British Legion’s annual Festival of Remembrance, taking place at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall.
This year’s event will be hosted by the award-winning Hannah Waddingham, and will feature outstanding performances from Sir Rod Stewart, Blessing Offor, Sam Ryder, Keala Settle, and The Wellermen. The evening will also showcase spectacular military music, with performances from The Central Band of the RAF, The RAF Squadronaires, The King’s Colour Squadron, and The Band of HM Royal Marines.
Marking 80 years since the end of the Second World War, the Festival will pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who served and lost their lives. Through powerful personal stories, it will also honour those affected by more recent conflicts, bridging generations and reminding us of the continuing impact of service. This year’s programme will also highlight the resilience of military children who have experienced loss, shining a light on their strength and courage.
The event will further commemorate the 25th anniversary of the UK Government lifting the ban on gay, lesbian, and bisexual personnel serving openly in the armed forces — reflecting on past discrimination and celebrating the progress made since 2000.
As the evening draws to a close, the nation will join Members of the Royal Family and veterans in a moving two-minute silence, accompanied by the falling of poppies — a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made in service of our country.
Accessible commentary will be available on BBC iPlayer, with a British Sign Language version on Red Button and iPlayer.
