The Inbetweeners return confirmed
The Inbetweeners is returning to television next year, after production company Banijay UK struck a deal with its creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley.
Confirming the news, revealed by Variety, they said: "It’s incredibly exciting to be plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends (ooh, friends)".
Banijay UK’s chief executive Patrick Holland said “They have an infectious creative vision for the brand which will resonate with audiences old and new"
All of the original castmembers - Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison - will return in a massive deal which will see them recreate the characters in multiple formants. The new deal “unlocks the rights and potential to bring The Inbetweeners back for new audiences across a range of platforms including film, TV and stage”.
The original show ran for three seasons from 2008 until 2010, with two subsequent films in 2011 and 2014.
he tv show previously aired on Channel 4, but there's no word on whether that's where The Inbetweeners will return to.
