Premiership Rugby Extends Free-to-Air Broadcast Partnership with ITV
Premiership Rugby and ITV have confirmed an extension to their long-running free-to-air broadcast partnership, signing a new two-year agreement.
Under the renewed deal, ITV will continue to show seven live matches per season, including the Gallagher Premiership Rugby Final, across its free-to-air platforms on ITV1 and ITVX.
The agreement covers the 2026/27 and 2027/28 campaigns and will see a total of 14 matches broadcast over the two seasons.
As part of its expanding rugby coverage, ITV Sport will also air the Guinness Men’s Six Nations Championship 2026, with ITV showing all England fixtures during the competition.
Niall Sloane, Director of ITV Sport, said: “The Gallagher PREM serves up world-class rugby and the extension of our current deal means ITV continues to deliver free-to-air rugby for audiences in the UK, adding to our already expanding rugby portfolio.”
Ollie Lewis, Head of Broadcast for PREM Rugby, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with ITV, which is now into its fifth year.
“Giving fans of Gallagher PREM Rugby free-to-air access across the season, alongside the Six Nations, is the perfect blend to showcase the stars of our league to wider audiences.”
Last year’s final attracted a combined audience of 1.3 million viewers across ITV and TNT Sports, delivering a 16.5% audience share — the equivalent of roughly one in six UK viewers.
All matches shown on ITV will also be simulcast on TNT Sports.
