Gomorrah – The Origins trailer released by SKY

Naples, 1977. This is where it all begins — the story of how a very young Pietro Savastano enters a dangerous criminal world set against the backdrop of a city in transformation: poor, rough-edged, addicted to cigarette smuggling, and on the brink of a new era defined by heroin.

All this and more unfolds in the first official teaser for GOMORRAH – THE ORIGINS, the highly anticipated six-part prequel to the global hit Sky Original series Gomorrah.

A New Chapter in the Gomorrah Saga

The new series serves as an origin story tracing the criminal education of the future boss, offering a fresh and gripping perspective on the roots of Pietro’s power. It captures a pivotal era that shaped the face of modern organized crime and set the stage for the events of the original Gomorrah series.

Produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya, part of ITV Studios, the prequel expands the epic crime universe inspired by Roberto Saviano’s bestselling novel. Gomorrah – The Origins is set to premiere in early 2026 on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK.

Series Synopsis: A City, A Dream, A Descent into Crime

Gomorrah – The Origins is set in 1977 Naples, where Pietro, a tough kid from the poorest parts of Secondigliano, survives any way he can — riding mopeds, committing petty theft, and chasing a dream of becoming like Angelo “A Sirena,” the neighborhood kingpin.

When Pietro finally earns the young boss’s trust, he’s pulled into a power game far beyond his understanding. As violence and loyalty collide, he begins to question whether this dark world is truly his destiny — or if his love for Imma can save him from it.
