I thought I loved my Tassimo. Truly, it had some great flavours, wasn't expensive and did the job.

So I set about changing up my coffee habits. I'm done with novelty flavours, all I actually want is great tasting, fresh coffee with no nasties. The first thing that hits you is just how stylish it is. This is a seriously beautiful coffee machine. Its reduced geometric shape, matt and textured surfaces, and clean, modern lines make it look like something you’d find in a high-end design showroom, not an ordinary kitchen. It's sturdy, made with great materials and feels premium to use. Melitta have seriously thought about the design to create something that stands out in a crowded market, and it really looks the business.

We played around with the 11 ceramic grinder settings, and honestly, it took almost no time at all to find our perfect grind. That level of control is something pod machines can’t touch. I think it took two, maybe three attempts before I'd nailed the grind and now i'm making coffee just how I like it.

You won't look back

I appreciate machines like the Tassimo have their place—quick drinks, simple brewing, no thought required. But the AromaFresh II Therm Pro has led me to think I won't go back.
