Shaun and the gang are preparing for Halloween in the first trailer for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, the latest big-screen adventure from Aardman and Sky.

About the new Shaun the Sheep film

Set for a UK theatrical release on 18 September, the new stop-motion film sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm getting into the spooky spirit – until disaster strikes. The Farmer accidentally destroys the flock’s prized pumpkin patch, prompting Shaun to take matters into his own hands.

His attempt to fix the problem quickly spirals into chaos, leading to the Farmer’s disappearance and the emergence of a mysterious creature stalking the woods around Mossingham. With a monster on the loose and Halloween approaching, Shaun and the flock find themselves in the middle of their wildest adventure yet.

The newly released trailer also introduces a new character voiced by Dani Dyer, making her first foray into animation. She plays Mossingham’s resident influencer, who unwittingly gets up close and personal with the mysterious beast while attempting to capture the perfect selfie.

Fans can expect plenty of classic Shaun the Sheep antics, including the flock protecting their pumpkin patch from snails, Timmy dressed in a sailor outfit, the Farmer struggling into an overly snug Halloween costume and an action-packed speedboat chase led by the Vet.

The film marks the third feature-length outing for Shaun and friends, following the success of Aardman’s recent Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. The acclaimed studio has enjoyed decades of critical success, amassing 17 BAFTA Awards and four Academy Awards, with Vengeance Most Fowl earning two BAFTAs and an Oscar nomination.

Aardman has partnered with Sky as the exclusive UK distributor for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, which will open in cinemas across the UK this September.
