Johannes Radebe has announced details of his latest touring production, Finally Home, a new live show set to travel across the UK and Ireland next spring.
The dancer, television presenter and Kinky Boots star will embark on the extensive tour from 1 April, culminating at Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre on 13 June. Among the highlights is a gala performance at the London Palladium on 9 May.
According to Radebe, the new production will be a celebration of the music and dance that have defined his personal and professional journey, combining ballroom favourites with South African rhythms and contemporary pop songs.
Announcing the tour, Radebe said: “People have been asking if I won’t be dancing anymore… darling, I’m just getting started! Bringing this tour Finally Home across the UK and Ireland is my way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported my journey. So come ready for joy, fun and celebration, because we’re bringing the biggest party to your town and I cannot wait to dance with you all!”
Born in Zamdela Sasolburg, South Africa, Radebe began dancing at the age of seven before building an international career that included performing on cruise ships and appearing on Dancing With The Stars South Africa. He joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 and has since become one of the programme’s most popular professionals. In 2021, he and celebrity partner John Whaite made history by becoming the show’s first all-male pairing to reach the final.
Away from television, Radebe has enjoyed a diverse career, headlining several solo stage productions, making his film choreography debut on Pretty Red Dress, co-producing the Olivier Award-nominated A Strange Loop and publishing his bestselling memoir Jojo: Finally Home. He recently made his musical theatre debut as Lola in Kinky Boots, a role he played during the show’s UK and Ireland tour and subsequent transfer to the London Coliseum.
The Finally Home tour will visit cities including Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Leeds, Leicester, Plymouth and Cardiff, with tickets set to go on sale for what promises to be another celebratory chapter in Radebe’s stage career.
