Lacey Turner confirmed for Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return for its 2026 series, bringing its trademark sparkle and show-stopping performances back to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn. The first celebrity contestant has now been confirmed, with award-winning actress Lacey Turner joining the line-up.

The announcement was made on 10 June across the show’s official social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube.

Turner is best known for her long-running role as Stacey Slater in EastEnders. Since joining the BBC soap in 2004, she has become one of its most recognisable stars, winning multiple British Soap Awards and National Television Awards. Her career has also included a range of stage productions and television dramas, including the lead role in BBC drama Our Girl.

Speaking about joining the competition, Turner said: “I am so excited to being making my way to the dance floor this year to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing! I am a huge fan and can’t quite believe I will be taking part and not watching at home this year! I look forward to meeting everyone and learning a new skill!”

Further details about Strictly Come Dancing 2026 are expected to be revealed throughout the summer ahead of the new series launching on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in September.

Viewers can add the programme to their BBC iPlayer watchlist now to stay up to date with the latest announcements as the countdown to the new series continues.

Strictly Come Dancing is produced by BBC Studios Entertainment for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
