Virgin Radio confirm who is replacing Graham Norton and other schedule changes

New shows for Dick & Dom and Angela Scanlon

Virgin Radio has finally confirmed changes to the station’s weekend schedules following the departure of Graham Norton from Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Virgin Radio regulars Leigh Francis and Tom Allen have new time slots, with Leigh on every Saturday 10am-1pm and Tom on Sundays 10am -1pm, just ahead of TV legends Dick and Dom taking over the studio from 1-4pm every weekend.

Weekends will also have a new breakfast show with Strictly alumni Angela Scanlon, on air every Saturday and Sunday morning from 7-10am.

Other changes to the Virgin Radio schedule will see Olivia Jones as the new host of the weekday late show, and Graeme Smith will join the weekend team.

Presenter Harpz Kaur is joining from the BBC Asian network, and has a new home in the 1-4 am show on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Virgin Radio network will also see some changes to its stations too, with former Capital and Galaxy DJ Sally Bailey returning to the airwaves full time on Virgin Radio Chilled, and former Heart & Wave 105 presenter Tony Shepherd joining Virgin Radio Anthems.

Iconic pop queen Kim Wilde will continue her show Virgin Radio 80s Plus every Sunday from 10am to 2pm alongside 80s legends like Timmy Mallet, Carol Decker & Tony Hadley on Saturday mornings.

Speaking in a statement, Angela said: “I know how many of you have dreamt about waking up to my husky dulcet tones, well dreams come true gang!! I’ll be getting up with you every weekend on Virgin Radio & I am inappropriately excited. Stick the kettle on!”

Leigh added: “I’m super excited to start my new Virgin Radio Show fresh off the back of my first ever tour! Remember Saturday mornings when telly was good? Hopefully I can create that vibe but on the radio. Can’t believe I just said vibe.”

Meanwhile, Tom shared: “I’m over the moon to be starting off Sundays in style with the perfect mix of great songs, chat and a bit of a laugh. See you there!”

Finally, Dick and Dom continued: “WE’RE BACK ON THE WEEKENDS! As genuine long term listeners and lovers of Virgin Radio we’re over the moon to  be joining the team. We both started our journeys in local radio so it’s great to be back behind the mic. Nice to have upgraded from a bungalow to studios at the top of the tower!!!”
