Free streaming platform U is set to debut a new factual entertainment series, Wagging Rights (6×60’), later this year, with additional broadcasts on U&Dave and U&W. Created by Boldprint Studios, the show follows five celebrities as they work to train their pet dogs for the world of competitive dog shows.

The lineup of participants includes Rhod Gilbert, Harriet Kemsley, Kae Kurd, Sara Pascoe, and Vicky Pattison, each hoping to claim the Wagging Rights trophy with their canine companions. Over six episodes, a panel of leading UK dog show judges will assess both the dogs and their owners, with each instalment focusing on a specific discipline such as obedience, scent work, agility, freestyle, and ball sports, culminating in a final showdown.
The series was commissioned for UKTV by senior commissioning editor Mark Iddon, alongside Helen Nightingale, head of factual and factual entertainment, and approved by Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning, and Gerald Casey, director of programming for unscripted content. Executive producers for Boldprint Studios include Phil Harris, Georgina Hinds, and Lou Hutchinson, with Tom Gill serving as series producer and Jill Worsley as series director. The wider production team also features Hannah Stupple as production executive and Lindsey Truman as line producer. Expert guidance on the show is provided by dog trainer and behaviourist Kay Attwood and fellow behaviourist Nigel Reed.
Wagging Rights will air simultaneously across both U&Dave and U&W, in addition to its streaming release on U.
