ITV1 and ITVX will screen Middlesbrough’s high-stakes Carabao Cup first-round clash against Wrexham live, bringing free-to-air coverage of the marquee fixture to football fans across the UK.
The first-round tie takes place at the Riverside Stadium on Friday, 7 August. Coverage on ITV1 and ITVX gets underway at 7:30pm, with kick-off set for 8:00pm.
Mark Pougatch leads the broadcast team, presenting all the live action from Teesside.
He will be joined in the studio by former pitch rivals Tommy Smith and Steven Fletcher to offer expert analysis, while Seb Hutchinson and Lucy Ward provide live match commentary.
Point to Prove for Boro
Middlesbrough enter the match eager to put last season’s early exit behind them. Boro suffered a nightmare start at this stage a year ago, crashing out after a shock 4-0 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers.
