Jeremy Clarkson Reveals Prostate Cancer Diagnosis in Clarkson’s Farm Season 5
Viewers of Clarkson’s Farm have been left emotional after Jeremy Clarkson revealed he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer during the final episodes of Season 5.
The latest instalment of the hit farming documentary, released on Wednesday, sees the television presenter open up about his health struggles while continuing to run Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds.
Although it is unclear exactly when the scenes were filmed, production on the fifth season took place during 2024 and 2025.
In one of the season’s most emotional moments, Clarkson informs farm manager Kaleb Cooper and land agent Charlie Ireland of his diagnosis. Both men appear visibly shocked as the presenter explains his situation.
“I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy, and it is cancer, and it’s aggressive, but it’s really early,” he said.
Clarkson added that he had known “since May”.
Seeking to reassure his colleagues, he told them: “I promise I’ll be fine,” adding that he would be out of action “for a little while”.
Cooper responded: “look after yourself” while Ireland said: “I wish you a very speedy recovery.”
Which Episodes Reveal Jeremy Clarkson’s Diagnosis?
Fans wanting to watch the episodes in which Clarkson discusses his diagnosis can find them in the final two episodes of Clarkson’s Farm Season 5 on Prime Video.
The first episode sees Clarkson reveal his cancer diagnosis to those closest to him on the farm, while the following episode explores his treatment and recovery in greater detail.
In a separate conversation with Cooper, Clarkson confirms the type of cancer, explaining: “The prostate, 10% of it is dead, the 10% where the cancer is.”
Later, he tells farm favourite Gerald: “I had the op, and just fingers crossed it’s worked, we don’t know yet.”
Season Ends with Clarkson in Hospital
The series concludes on a sobering note as Clarkson is shown in a hospital bed following treatment.
Reflecting on the season, he says: “We started season five with me in a hospital bed, and here we are at the end of season five and I’m back in the hospital bed.”
He continues: “Some of the treatment’s gone a bit awry, let’s say, so I’m going to be here for a little while. I’m nil by mouth, I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
In a poignant moment at the close of the season, Clarkson adds: “But if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I wont.”
He signs off with a simple message to viewers: “Take care everyone.”
Clarkson Had Previously Opened Up About Health Concerns
The Grand Tour presenter had already made his health a central theme of the latest season after undergoing a heart procedure in October 2024.
At the time, Clarkson wrote that “of the arteries feeding my heart with nourishing blood, one was completely blocked and the second of three was heading that way.”
He later underwent surgery to insert a stent, a tube used to open narrowed or blocked arteries and improve blood flow.
Ahead of the release of the final episodes, Clarkson warned fans on Instagram that they would be a “difficult watch”.
Jeremy Clarkson’s Television Career
Clarkson remains one of Britain’s most recognisable television personalities. He fronted Top Gear between 2002 and 2015 before reuniting with Richard Hammond and James May for Amazon’s The Grand Tour.
He launched Clarkson’s Farm in 2021, documenting his attempts to run Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds. The series quickly became a global success and has now reached its fifth season.
Alongside the farming documentary, Clarkson also presents ITV’s quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
