Jaime Winstone will compete in this year’s Strictly.
The celebrity line-up for Strictly Come Dancing 2026 continues to take shape, with actress Jaime Winstone officially confirmed as the latest contestant for the upcoming series.
The announcement was made on Thursday, 23 July, across the show’s official Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube accounts.
One of the UK’s best-known actresses, Winstone first broke onto the scene in 2004 and has since built an impressive career spanning film, television, theatre and modelling. Her film credits include Made in Dagenham, Bullet Boy, Tomb Raider and Wild Bill, while television audiences will recognise her from roles in Dead Set, Torville & Dean, Poirot, Mad Dogs, Count Abdulla and the BBC drama Four Lives.
She earned critical praise for portraying Barbara Windsor in the BBC biopic Babs before taking on the role of Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders flashback episodes. Her most recent appearance came during the soap’s 40th anniversary celebrations last year, with the episode later winning the British Soap Award for Best Single Episode.
Alongside her screen career, Winstone has also worked as a model and appeared in the West End production of 2:22 A Ghost Story.
Speaking about joining the competition, Jaime Winstone says: “I am so excited to announce that I will be joining the Strictly Come Dancing cast this year. I am no stranger to a dance floor, but the ballroom is a whole new world for me. I love a challenge though, so can’t wait to enter my showgirl era and get super sparkly!! Winstone joins an already announced celebrity cast that includes Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton, Cach Mercer, Will Best and Dame Sarah Storey. More contestants are expected to be revealed throughout the summer ahead of the show’s return.
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September, bringing its traditional Saturday and Sunday night schedule back for another season. Viewers can already add the programme to their BBC iPlayer watchlist.
