NBC is revamping The Voice for 2027 with The Voice: Celebrity, welcoming Keke Palmer as the new host alongside a star-studded coaching panel.

Keke Palmer Takes the Helm for Revamped ‘The Voice: Celebrity’

The Voice is getting a major shakeup. Multi-talented entertainer Keke Palmer has officially signed on as the new host for Season 31, stepping in for long-time host Carson Daly as the franchise launches a fresh spin-off titled The Voice: Celebrity.

Slated to premiere in 2027, the revamped format will showcase famous faces—ranging from athletes and comedians to influencers and reality TV icons—stepping into the Blind Auditions and Battles.

According to NBC, the Emmy-winning host brings the perfect energy to the new concept.

“Palmer’s creative range, bold authenticity, humor and heart epitomize the one-of-a-kind season,” NBC shared in a press release. “She expertly guides the competition and connects viewers at home to the excitement unfolding on The Voice stage in a style uniquely her own. “

Palmer arrives with an impressive hosting resume, having made history in 2023 as the first Black woman to win the Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show for NBC’s Password. She also leads her popular podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, alongside a celebrated music and acting career stretching back to her breakout role in Akeelah and the Bee.

Interestingly, Palmer also brings a unique, supernatural habit to the stage. During a 2026 chat with Kelly Clarkson, Palmer revealed that whenever she senses a ghost or spirit nearby, she breaks into song:

“Jesus loves me, this I know.”

She added:

“So I just felt like ward them all with my singing.”

Her history with Clarkson goes way back—Palmer was a guest mentor on American Idol in 2026 and told Clarkson on her talk show:

“I was there when you won American Idol, honey, I was watching everything,”

She added:

“And then everything after — I just live for you, Kelly.”

Queen Latifah

Returning after her debut in Season 30, the Grammy, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner brings decades of icon status to the red chair. Ahead of her first turn as a coach, she admitted to Entertainment Tonight that she had to practice her screen presence:

“I wonder what they’re gonna call me,”

“‘Coach La, yo Coach Queen! The Royal Rebels! It’s the Royal Rebels right here! What’s good?’ I don’t know, I gotta get in the mirror — I’m working on it! I’m working on my shtick, I gotta get in the mirror with it.”

Riley Green

Country star Riley Green also returns for his second consecutive turn as a coach following Season 30. Green, nominated for Best Male Country Artist at the 2026 American Music Awards, brings chart-topping hits like “Don’t Mind If I Do” and “Worst Way,” along with his upcoming album That’s Just Me.

Joe Jonas

Rounding out the panel is Joe Jonas, making his U.S. red chair debut after previously coaching on The Voice Australia. Jonas is no stranger to the American franchise, having served as a mentor for Team Adam Levine in Season 13 and a Battle Advisor for his brother Nick in Season 18.
