Beverly Hills Cop 4 is coming to Netflix

Get ready for the long-anticipated return of Eddie Murphy as the beloved quick-witted policeman in Beverly Hills Cop 4, officially titled Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. The fourth installment in the series is set to hit Netflix in the summer of 2024, marking the iconic character’s reappearance 40 years after his debut.

While an official release date is still pending, fans can indulge in the excitement by watching the newly released trailer and taking a glimpse at the first poster.

In this installment, Detective Axel Foley is back on the streets of Beverly Hills, where his latest case takes a personal turn. When his daughter Jane (played by Taylour Paige) faces a life-threatening situation, Axel joins forces with her and his new partner Detective Abbott (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), alongside old friends Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to unravel a conspiracy.

Produced once again by Jerry Bruckheimer, with Mark Molloy at the helm as director, the film promises to showcase Murphy as the same beloved Axel Foley that fans fell in love with. Bruckheimer assured audiences that despite the passage of time, Axel Foley still maintains his street-smart edge and charisma.

“He’s still on the streets. He’s still doing what he does. Obviously with age you get wiser. But he still has the twinkle in his eye,” explained Bruckheimer during an interview with TUDUM. Molloy, making his directorial debut, highlighted the significance of creating the right atmosphere and assembling the right cast to allow Murphy to showcase his improvisational brilliance.
