New Leigh Francis show to launch on Virgin Radio this weekend
News: Leigh Francis launches his brand new weekly show on Virgin Radio, this Saturday 16 Sptember.
Best known for his TV alter ego, Keith Lemon, Leigh shared the news during a guest appearance on Ricky Wilson’s drivetime show on September 13th.
Running until December 16th, 2023, Leigh’s new show will fill the Saturday afternoon slot from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm, immediately following “The Graham Norton Radio Show with Waitrose.”
The star of “Celebrity Juice” and “Keith Lemon Sketch Show” is already hinting at big plans for his Saturday show, including an event called the ‘Ginger Party,’ dedicated to celebrating red-haired individuals later this year.
This marks Leigh’s return to Virgin Radio, now in a more permanent hosting role, after impressing listeners while filling in for Ricky on the weekday drivetime show earlier this year. These guest appearances brought plenty of memorable moments, like a live prank on talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein and the creation of a portrait made entirely from ginger biscuits and coffee.
Expressing his excitement in a statement, the Leeds-born comedian remarked, “It started as a couple of fun weeks filling in for my mate Ricky Wilson, and now I’m going to be on Virgin Radio every Saturday afternoon! Hurrraaah! Dreams can come true! So excited!” He also teased upcoming themed shows for Halloween, Christmas, and a National Ginger Day special, promising “Ace times!”
Leigh joins a star-studded lineup at Virgin Radio UK, which includes Chris Evans at breakfast, Graham Norton on Saturdays, Jayne Middlemiss on weekdays, and the recent addition, Kaiser Chiefs’ frontman Ricky Wilson.
Don’t miss Leigh Francis hosting his new show every Saturday from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm on Virgin Radio UK.
