In a recent behind-the-scenes featurette, Domingo shed light on his complex character, who is inspired by real-life media personalities. “Muncie represents figures who are respected but often challenged, even by their own communities,” Domingo explains. “He’s viewed by some as not Black enough and by others as too Black.”

Once a passionate activist, Muncie’s rise to fame as a media superstar has distanced him from the communities he once championed, adding layers of tension to his journey.
