Radio 2 confirms Zoe Ball Christmas specials

Outgoing Breakfast Show host’s festive specials will get another airing

BBC Radio 2 will repeat Zoe Ball’s Christmas Christmas Crooners, two special shows in which the outgoing Breakfast Show host celebrates all things festive.

Known for her warm personality and deep love of music, Zoe will host two special episodes celebrating the season’s best-loved Christmas crooners alongside some rare and unexpected gems.

In the two specials which first aired last year, Zoe whisks listeners on a merry musical journey. Kicking off with Barbra Streisand’s lively rendition of “Jingle Bells,” the program will traverse the globe, from Jimmy Buffet’s tropical “Christmas Island” to Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters wishing everyone “Mele Kalikimaka.”

The festive lineup also includes classics like Andy Williams’ “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”, Ella Fitzgerald, Eartha Kitt with her iconic “Santa Baby”, and the ever-cheerful Louis Armstrong. For fans of duets, there’s something extra special: Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga and The Carpenters are part of the musical treat and so is Mr Buble.

Radio 2 will repeat the shows starting in the small hours of Sunday 1 December, but you can also listen on demand via BBC Sounds.
