BBC to air special behind-the-scenes footage on New Year’s Day.
Fans of Gavin & Stacey are in for a treat this Christmas, because the Christmas Day episode ‘Gavin & Stacey – The Finale’ will not be the last time viewers get a fix of their favourite characters.
The BBC has announced it will air a special behind-the-scenes show: “Gavin & Stacey: The Farewell” at 7pm on New Year’s Day.

The sixty minute bonus episode is an uplifting and touching documentary special which tells the story of one of Britain’s best loved sitcoms as it comes to an end after 17 years. It charts the journey of a little-known sitcom that started life on BBC3 which, with its blend of relatable characters and infectious catchphrases, grew into a must watch show that captivated the hearts of the nation.
Featuring unprecedented access to creators James Corden and Ruth Jones as well as the cast and crew as they film the final episodes together as they all say goodbye to this much cherished show. Plus, an array of celebrity fans have their say on the show’s influence on British society and why they believe Gavin & Stacey is the best show on TV.
It’s the last time fans of the long-running sitcom and enjoy new footage of their favourite characters together on screen.
