No surprises this year as Danny Jones wins I’m A Celeb 2024.
Pop star Danny Jones has been named the winner of ITV1’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!. The 38-year-old triumphed in the grand final, which aired Sunday, December 8, 2024, securing the title of King of the Jungle after spending three grueling weeks in the wilderness. Danny edged out WAG Coleen Rooney, who finished as runner-up, while Reverend Richard Coles placed third.
Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec moments after his victory, a visibly emotional Danny expressed his gratitude. “I can’t even talk—this is surreal! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I gave my all, I gave myself, and it’s such a lovely feeling to be liked. I appreciate it so much,” he said. Reflecting on his time in the jungle, he added, “I’ve learned so much about myself because of my campmates. Some moments were the hardest I’ve ever faced, but the highs were among the best of my life.”
Danny follows in the footsteps of his McFly bandmate Dougie Poynter, who won the reality series back in 2011. However, he admitted the experience was far tougher than he anticipated. “It was way harder than I expected. I hope people can see that on TV. You’re hungry, tired, and lethargic—when the calories are so low, everything feels doubly hard. You’re excited to do trials because you’re bored, but then you think, ‘Why am I doing this?!’”
Coleen Rooney, wife of football legend Wayne Rooney, expressed her delight for Danny while reflecting on her unexpected journey to the final. “I didn’t think I’d get this far, so I’m really happy. Danny truly deserves this win,” she said.
Danny’s participation in the show came as a last-minute replacement for Love Island star Tommy Fury, who dropped out prior to filming. Throughout the season, he competed alongside notable personalities like TikTok sensation GK Barry, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, and N-Dubz singer Tulisa.
Danny’s victory capped off a season filled with challenges, camaraderie, and self-discovery, solidifying his place as the latest King of the Jungle.
