Jenna Coleman’s new drama The Jetty to launch 15 July on BBC One
The Jetty is set to premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on July 15.
Created and written by Cat Jones, and produced by Firebird Pictures for the BBC, the four-part mystery delves into themes of sexual morality, age of consent, grooming, identity, and memory.
"The Jetty" kicks off with a fire ripping through a property in a picturesque Lancashire lake town. Detective Ember Manning (played by Jenna Coleman) is tasked with unraveling how this event ties to a podcast journalist investigating a cold case of a missing person, and an illicit relationship between a man in his twenties and two underage girls. As Ember gets closer to the truth, she is forced to confront and reevaluate her past, present, and the town she has always called home. Blending elements of a coming-of-age story with a detective thriller, "The Jetty" poses significant questions about sexual morality, identity, and memory, particularly in the context of the Me Too movement.
