Miracle on 34th street is available to stream via Disney+

Before the Thanksgiving parade, Dorey Walker fires the intoxicated Santa, Tony Falacchi, from Cole's Department Store. Desperate for a replacement, she convinces an elderly man, Kris Kringle, who believes he's the real Santa, to step in. Kris's success leads to a marketing campaign for Cole's, angering rival Shopper's Express.

Dorey, trying to dissuade her daughter Susan from believing in Santa, is concerned about Kris's influence. Attorney Bryan Bedford supports Kris when he faces a plot to destroy his credibility. The court case unfolds, and Susan's Christmas card with a circled "In God We Trust" leads the judge to declare Santa real.

After the case, Dorey and Bryan realize their feelings and marry. On Christmas morning, Susan learns of the marriage. They discover Kris arranged for them to buy the dream house. With two wishes granted, Susan reveals her third wish: a baby brother, hinting at a surprise pregnancy.

Featuring Richard Attenborough, Elizabeth Perkins, Dylan McDermott, J. T. Walsh, James Remar, Mara Wilson, and Robert Prosky, the movie marks the initial theatrical remake of the original 1947 film.
