Weekend viewing figures for England's match and coldplay at glastonbury

A peak of 18.4 million people watched England beat Slovakia this Sunday evening, whilst 2.5 million tuned into see Coldplay headline Glastonbury.

In a massive weekend for tv viewing, an average 11.3million tuned in for the football on ITV, with another 7.1 million tuning in to see England win 2-1 in Extra Time.

On Saturday night, BBC One broadcast Coldplay’s record-breaking Glastonbury headline set, which aired between 10pm and midnight.

Chris Martin told the crowd: “I look around I just see amazing wonderful people all over the place, and that’s what makes Glastonbury the greatest city on earth in my opinion.”

Their set included a special appearance from actor Michael J Fox, and the band were watched by Tom Cruise, Dakota Johnson and Gillian Anderson.

Glastonbury performances are available to watch on demand via BBC iPlayer. England’s next match will be against Switzerland and will be broadcast on BBC One this Saturday with kick-off at 5pm.
