TV Tonight: Big Mood

Big Mood starts tonight at 10pm on Channel 4.

Starring Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West, Camilla Whitehill's brand-new comedy is a vivacious and rebellious portrayal of female friendship when infiltrated by the complexities of mental health. Best friends Maggie (Coughlan) and Eddie (West) have lived in each other's pockets for 10 years, through thick, thin - and multiple challenging eyebrow trends.

But with the rest of their lives looming, their careers hanging in the balance, and Maggie's bipolar disorder making an unwelcome return to form, Maggie and Eddie's relationship faces the future. Can it survive?

In the opening episode, Maggie goes back to her old school to give a talk. But she's not there to inspire the children with her not-so-illustrious playwrighting career; she wants to find out if hot history teacher Mr Wilson (Tim Downie) still fancies her.

Eddie tags along for the ride, leaving Klent (Eamon Farren) in charge of her bar, Wet Mouth. Maggie soon realises that she's bitten off more than she can chew, and Eddie begins to question Maggie's behaviour.
