Scott Mills needs you! Take part in Birthday Game and The Easiest Quiz on the Radio on Radio 2 breakfast.
The Scott Mills Breakfast Show launches on BBC Radio 2 this Monday 27 January, 2025 and Scott is looking for listeners to take part in The Birthday Game and The Easiest Quiz on The Radio.
The Birthday Game quickly became a popular feature on Scott’s afternoon show. It sees a listener, celebrating their birthday on the given day, come on air and play a game of ‘stick or twist’ to determine a song choice. So Scott will play a clip of one song and ask the listener if he should play it; They have three chances, but if they say no to the first two, then the third song definitely has to play!
Also launching on the brand new breakfast show is The Earliest Quiz on the Radio, a brand new general knowledge quiz.
Each morning, Tina Daheley’s got the latest headlines and Ellie Brennan will bring you up to date traffic and travel news. There’s sport, a Pause For Thought and your chance to get your hands on Scott’s Golden Toaster!
To take part in either game, or get in touch with the show, send an email to scott.mills@bbc.co.uk – and listen live weekdays from 6.30am!
Scott says: “Zoe and I have been such good friends now for over 25 years and have spent much of that time as part of the same radio family here at Radio 2 and also on Radio 1. She's done an incredible job on this show over the past six years, and I am beyond excited to be handed the baton.”
“It feels ever since recording my first shows as a kid for an audience of one, my mum, all roads since have led to this amazing opportunity. It really is a lifelong dream come true to follow in the footsteps of Sir Terry, Chris and Zoe to be the new presenter of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.”
Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2 says: “It's a privilege to welcome Scott to the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. He’s a multi-award winning broadcaster who has been working in radio since the age of 16 and I know he can’t wait to get started on the biggest Breakfast show in the land! Earlier this year he won the Gold award for Best Music Entertainment Show for his afternoon programme on Radio 2 at the industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony, the ARIAs (Audio & Radio Industry Awards), and I'm delighted he will now be waking up millions of listeners each weekday at Breakfast.”
Also launching next Monday, Trevor Nelson takes over the afternoon show, which airs between Jeremy Vine and Sara Cox.
