Rylan’s Radio 2 return date confirmed

Rylan will return to his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday 1 July, it has been confirmed.

After taking a break, Rylan is back in his 3pm slot and singing KaRyoke to the first song he ever played on Radio 2 with Ultra Nate. He catches up with Mummy Linda to see what she's stolen from his house over the past month. Plus, he’ll be giving out boarding passes to Rybiza.

Rylan hasn’t been on the air since May, when he announced he was taking a break. At the time, he said "Well, listen, as I said, I'm gonna be off now for a fair few weeks, 'cause I've got some other bits that I need to do, and I will be back very very soon.

"But whoever's here, please look after 'em. Make sure you send in all your messages. Look after Simon – 'cause, y'know, he gets jealous when other people are in," he joked.

"Look after Lottie and Sal, look after Brendan and whoever else is working on the show, because I love 'em. I don't say it a lot, but I do, alright?"

Rylan has been busy, filming for a number of new BBC tv series. They include a new travelogue series, which will see him holiday alongside Rob Rinder. He’s also been working on new BBC sounds podcast, How to Be a Man.

This Saturday at 3pm, Dermot O’Leary hosts a special show from Glastonbury festival. Listen via the BBC Sounds app on a Humax set-top box.
