Kylie Minogue cohosts Radio 2 Breakfast TODAY!

News

Kylie Minogue is co-hosting The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 this morning, to celebrate the release of her new single, Tension.

Kylie will join Zoe for part of this morning’s programme, alongside guests Steven Bartlett and Daisy May-Cooper.

Tension is the title track from Kylie’s new album which is released later this month. It follows Padam Padam, the track that took everyone by surprise and propelled the 55 year old icon back to superstardom, ranking high in the charts both here and in the U.S.

Speaking about the new album, out 22nd September, Kylie said “Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme,’ it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”

Tension certainly reflects that, with a club friendly beat and melody.

Minogue will soon start a residency in Las Vegas, but fans have a special opportunity to see her perform new album tracks live at Radio 2 in the Park, happening on Sunday 17 September in Leicester. It’s the second time Kylie has performed in the city’s Victoria Park, having performed at Radio 1’s One Big Sunday more than a decade ago. Speaking about her upcoming headline performance, Kylie said “Over the years I’ve done many unique and varied performances for BBC Radio 2. I’m so excited to be headlining Radio 2 in the Park in Leicester later this year! I can’t wait to celebrate with you all, see you September 17th!”

Listen to Kylie presenting with Zoe live or on demand via BBC Sounds.
