When does ‘Out There’ start on ITV?
Out There, the new thriller starring Martin Clunes will start Sunday 19th January at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX it was confirmed today.
The new drama explores the growing threat of county lines drug trafficking and the crime wave infiltrating the British countryside. Clunes plays a farmer who faces the dark forces encroaching on his rural community.
The series depicts the covert invasion of the land the farmer holds dear, as local county lines drug dealers—urban gangs using the countryside to transport drugs and money between city hubs and provincial areas—put his livelihood, home, and family at risk.
Clunes portrays Nathan Williams, a farmer whose family has owned the land for generations. Struggling with the grief of losing his wife, Sabine, two years ago, Nathan is caught in a monotonous routine of work and sorrow. As a single father to teenage Johnny (played by Louis Ashbourne Serkis), Nathan finds himself in a unique position to confront the gangs that threaten his son's safety.
As a result, Nathan embarks on a personal journey that pushes him further out of his comfort zone and into a dark, unfamiliar world, all in an effort to protect his family, farm, and heritage. He has failed to recognize the warning signs that the peaceful rural life he once knew has been irreparably damaged, infected by waves of criminal activity spreading like a virus from the cities.
Now, Nathan must come to terms with the fact that the idyllic countryside of his childhood no longer exists, replaced by a much more dangerous reality. The only way for him to survive in this new world is to adapt, learn the rules, and fight back.
Out There also features Mark Lewis Jones as Nathan's brother, Caleb Williams, Carly-Sophia Davies and Gerran Howell as siblings Sadie and Rhys, whose lives become entangled in county lines crime, and Natalia Kostrzewa as Eva, a cleaner who becomes drawn into the battle against the dark forces.
