The Version: Rylan and James Arthur are to reunite 13 years after appearing together on The X Factor.

James will join Rylan on his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday, 5 August from 3pm and the pair will duet as part of Rylan’s popular KaRyoke feature.

Since appearing on the programme, Rylan has become a household name, presenting Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, Strictly: It Takes Two, Eurovison Semi Finals, This Morning and a reboot of Supermarket Sweep.

He joined Radio 2 in 2019, saying “I’m so excited and honoured to be joining the BBC Radio 2 family. After stepping in for the amazing Zoe Ball over the summer, working with her fantastic team, I’m thrilled that I’ll be working with them again to fill listeners’ Saturday afternoons with fun, great music and a lot of laughter.”

James has enjoyed chart success, having released four studio albums and 34 singles.

Earlier this year, fans of The Masked Singer mistook the singer for Charlie Simpson who appeared as Rhino. At the time, James tweeted "Charlie Simpson I’d know that voice anywhere. One of the best out there #maskedsinger now everyone p*** off and leave me
alone."

Joining James and Rylan on the Radio 2 show will be Rylan’s mum Linda.
