Britney at the BBC is coming to BBC Two

News: Britney at the BBC will air on BBC Two on Saturday, 16 September 2023 at 10pm the BBC has confirmed.

She’s been one of the world’s most successful and talked about performers of the century, and last year’s triumph of the #FreeBritney campaign means she’s still relevant more than two decades after she first grabbed our attention.

Her explosive arrival on the music scene aged just 16 made Britney a frequent visitor to some of TV’s biggest shows, and to celebrate, fans of the icon can enjoy a special show in which the star performs hits including Hit Me Baby One More Time, Crazy, Overprotected, Toxic and Oops! I Did it Again.

Britney at the BBC will air as part of a special night of music programming, now a staple for Saturday nights on BBC Two.

Alicia Keys at the BBC will air earlier in the evening at 8.20pm. From practising on a second-hand piano in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen aged seven right through to international and Grammy success, fame and acclaim, Alicia Keys has been one of the music industry’s most respected stars for over two decades.

The reasons for this are plain to see in this collection of her appearances on a selection of BBC programmes, which capture all the elements of her uniqueness as a performer, musician and songwriter, and include hits like Fallin’, No One, Girl on Fire and Empire State of Mind.

At 9.20pm, BBC Two really turns the clock back as we’re taken back to 2012. Fearne Cotton and Greg James introduce highlights from the headlining performance of by pop superstar Rihanna from Radio 1's Hackney Weekend.

Today the BBC announced its commitment to continued music programming, with upcoming Saturday night programmes paying homage to Stock, Aitken & Waterman plus Lulu and Mary J Blige.
