Top Guns: Inside the RAF is coming to Channel 4
News Top Guns: Inside the RAF will launch on Channel 4 on Monday 21 July, at 9pm.
This brand-new series has unprecedented access to RAF Lossiemouth's fighter jets, warplanes and service personnel, as global tensions, including with Russia, impact on missions both at home and abroad. For the first time, cameras go inside the cockpit, taking viewers all the way to the front line, while day-to-day life is captured at the RAF's busiest operational airbase at a time of high stakes and high drama.
In the first episode, RAF pilot Jake Desmond from Lossiemouth's 9 Squadron is sent to NATO's frontline to face off against three Russian jets.
And rookie pilot Harry Brooks tries to earn his wings and qualify for live operations.
Mark Tattersall, executive producer for production company True North, said: “This is the first time a documentary team has ever been given such wide-ranging access to the RAF, and given the events of the last 12 months, it’s been an exciting challenge to document the work of the people at RAF Lossiemouth.”
