Disney+ offers new discount to make service more affordable

theversion.co Disney+ fans can soon stream the service for only £4.99.

Following a dramatic drop in subscribers amidst the cost of living crisis, Disney+ is to offer a brand new tier to its subscriptions, for only £4.99. Following Netflix’s recent move, the streaming giant will make a new subscription available which will include adverts.

Subscribers to the cheapest package also won’t be able to watch anything in 4K UHD or enjoy Dolby Atmos sound. They also wont be able to download content and can only stream to things at a time.

But that’s a small price to pay to be able to access the vast library of content, which will soon also include the live action version of The Little Mermaid, the new Indiana Jones film and Pixar’s Elemental.

Jan Koeppen, President of The Walt Disney Company EMEA commented: "The introduction of the ad-supported plan marks the next evolution for Disney+ in Europe, as we provide greater choice for our customers and our world-class advertising partners alike.

"Disney Plus continues to set itself apart in today's streaming landscape, offering unrivalled value, genre-defining TV series and blockbuster movies set within a simple and seamless experience."

The new £4.99 offer will be available this November.
