TV Tonight: Britain’s Most Expensive Houses

What to watch tonight: Britain’s Most Expensive Houses is on Channel 4 tonight at 9pm.

The series with exclusive access to some of the UK's most extraordinary properties, following the brokers at UK Sotheby's International Realty. The super-prime property market is booming and competition to court ultra-high-net-worth individuals is fierce. The brokers have to work harder than ever to attract their hugely wealthy, highly demanding clients and close those multi-million-pound deals. In this episode, director of the country office Amy has a £7.25 million house to sell in the village of Oxshott in Surrey.

Just an hour outside London and close to Chelsea Football Club's training ground, this home has been designed to appeal to the wealthy football set. Its landscape gardens boast an outdoor jacuzzi, sauna and entertainment area, and the interior's even flashier, dripping with expensive chandeliers, crystals and mirrors. Amy thinks this glistening home might appeal to her colleague Jaishree's contacts in South East Asia, so they target international buyers. Managing director Guy visits a stunning 18th-century chateau in the Loire Valley - with its own private 18-hole championship-grade golf course - that's available to rent for £30,000 a night.

There's even coaching available on request from golfing greats Justin Rose and Tyrrell Hatton. The owners want Guy to reach out to his little black book of wealthy British clients, but instead he turns to James from Luux Media, a company that sources high-end experiences for the 0.1%. In central London, broker Diana meets millionaire businessman Ameerh. His private jet business is booming and he wants a London pied-a-terre to buy or rent. But, accustomed as he is to a luxury lifestyle, his demands prove tricky to fulfil. Elsewhere in London, Diana meets developer Kam, who's restoring former stately home Doughty House in Richmond Hill. He expects the completed super-mansion - with 12 bedrooms, a ballroom, a pool, a spa and a bowling alley - to hit the market for an eye-watering £100 million. And in Hampstead, broker Lee's childhood friend Gideon has asked him to value his mother-in-law's five-bedroom property, which is spread over four floors and has a garden with direct access onto Hampstead Heath. Lee wants to do a good job for his friend. And if he gets the £8.45 million asking price, the commission won't hurt either...
