Scream 7 confirmed with Christopher Landon to direct

icymiofficial.com: The director of Paranormal Activity, Disturbia and Freaky will direct Scream 7.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Landon takes over from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who successfully rebooted the franchise with the latest two movies.

Critically acclaimed Director Landon most recently directed Neftlix original, We Have a Ghost.

News of the 7th installment in the Scream story will come as no surprise, after Scream VI scored a massive $168 million in global box office takings. It once again saw the return of fan favourite Courtney Cox, starring as reported Gail Weathers. In the film, the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Fans and critics loved it, with most crediting the move of the action to NYC as a genius move.

In Scream VI, Melissa Barrera (“Sam Carpenter”), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy Meeks-Martin”), Mason Gooding (“Chad Meeks-Martin”), Jenna Ortega (“Tara Carpenter”), Hayden Panettiere (“Kirby Reed”) and Courteney Cox returned to their roles in the franchise alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.

Paramount are expected to distribute the film, which is likely to be released late 2024.
