Kylie Minogue’s Tension set to top Today’s Big Top 40
News Kylie Minogue is on course to claim another UK No.1 today, with new single Tension set to go straight to the top of The Sky VIP Official Big Top 40.
Kylie only released the track on Friday, but as with her previous single Padam Padam, it’s proved to be a massive overnight hit. Tension is the title track from Kylie’s brand new album, which will be released on 15 September. Speaking about the album, the pop icon said “I started this album with an open mind and a blank page”.
“Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme,’ it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”
At the time of writing, Kylie’s Tension is No.1 on the UK iTunes chart, and the track has received a huge amount of streams and radio plays already, making it favourite to score pole position on The Big Top 40, which is the UK’s most listened to chart show. Kylie topping the chart would put Calvin Harris & Sam Smith at No.2 with their single, Desire.
