Broadcaster Mel Giedroyc is set to kick off the new year with a fresh role on Magic Radio, where she’ll host a live, Sunday morning request show starting January 12, 2025.
Expressing her excitement, Mel said, “I’m thrilled to be back with my Magic Radio family and can’t wait to share Sunday mornings with our wonderful listeners. Starting in January, join me to chat about your week—whether you’re celebrating, need a little pick-me-up, or just want to hear some great music. I’m looking forward to it!”
Paul Sylvester, Magic Radio’s Content Director, shared his enthusiasm for Mel’s return, saying, “Mel captures the spirit of the Magic audience with her warmth, humour, and love for our music. She’s the perfect friend to accompany listeners on Sunday mornings, and I believe her show will become a must-listen part of our lineup.”
Known for her work on Eurovision and as a former Bake Off host, Mel is familiar to Magic Radio listeners, having previously hosted a Saturday afternoon show from 2016 to 2018.
As announced earlier, Lynn Parsons will move to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings to present Mellow Magic, while Nicki Chapman joins the station in January. The same month, Gok Wan will debut as the new co-host of the Magic Radio Breakfast Show.
Mel’s Sunday show will air each week at 10 a.m., starting January 12.
