Best TV on Tonight? Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country

Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country is on Channel 4 tonight at 8pm.

Sarah Beeny, her husband Graham Swift and their boys Billy, Charlie, Raffey and Laurie immerse themselves into everything rural life has to offer and build the house of their dreams. In the final episode of the series, Sarah and Graham measure up an area of lawn for the early stages of planning a greenhouse, something Sarah has wanted since they first moved to the countryside.

But in typical Beeny-Swift style, this greenhouse is going to be on a rather grand scale. Sarah is keen that it's not just going to be a space to grow, but it's also a place she can retreat to. After nearly four years of living in the countryside, Sarah and Graham are finding more time to get out and experience what the West Country has to offer. And in Blackawton, in the neighbouring county of Devon, they take Raffey and Laurie to the International Worm Charming Festival. Since settling into West Country life, the boys have found their groove in a family band. Following the success of their first live gig in the local pub last year, this summer they've got a tour planned, ending at the big music and motor extravaganza,

CarFest music festival in Laverstoke Park, Hampshire. Graham buys a new vehicle big enough for all six of them, plus all their kit and instruments, that they put their own personal stamp on. Back at home, after clearing the lawn, pouring the concrete foundations and adding dampproof insulation, the wall is constructed for the glass to sit on, and the greenhouse and terrace are fully finished. Sarah and Graham invite all their family over for a BBQ to christen the new area and to celebrate all the hard work that's gone into making their house a home so far, but also with a promise of many more exciting home projects to come.
