Junior Taskmaster: Happy Birthday Bandana starts tonight ta 8pm on Channel 4.9

Junior Taskmaster is the brand-new offspring of the BAFTA and National Comedy Award winning Taskmaster. Taking to the thrones are acclaimed comedians Junior Taskmaster Rose Matafeo and her assistant Mike Wozniak.

Set to take on the fiendishly baffling series of tasks are 25 contestants aged between nine and 11, who show up ready and willing to give their all in the name of entertainment. Our young heroes will compete across five heats and two semi-finals, before the top five players head through to the grand final, where they will bid to become the very first Junior Taskmaster Champion and, continuing the Taskmaster tradition, take home a trophy of the Junior Taskmaster’s magnificent golden head.

It’s the first episode of the first series of Junior Taskmaster, and there’s a new sheriff in town: Rose Matafeo, our brand-new Junior Taskmaster, reigns over her tweed-wearing assistant, Mike Wozniak. It’s heat one, and our five pint-sized contestants – Anita, Lazer, Nyarah, Persia and Reuben – sniff mashed potato and throw a plethora of items into a large hat, in the hope of making it through to the semi-finals.
