2.8million people watched Celebrity Big Brother: Live Launch on ITV1 last night. The viewing figures peaked with 3.6million, making it the most watched programme across all channels.

The new series, the first celebrity series of the iconic reality show in five years, launched on ITV1 and ITVX with a 90 minute show broadcast live from 9pm.

It saw hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu welcome a raft of famous faces including Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Fern Britton into Britain’s most famous house.

Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, Heartstopper actor Bradley Riches and Coronation Street actor Colson Smith are among the celebrity housemates competing in this year’s series, which will run for three weeks.
