Roman Kemp’s next role confirmed – and you can hear him very soon!

Roman Kemp is making a welcome return to broadcasting, just weeks after quitting his role hosting Capital Breakfast.

Roman is teaming up once again with his dad, Martin Kemp, for a brand new podcast. It’s huge news for fans of the presenter, who left Capital after ten years last month. Since leaving, he has still been seen on BBC One since, where he fronts The One Show and daytime quiz, The Finish Line.

The new podcast also comes after Martin land his own show on Greatest Hits Radio, the radio station which is home to former Radio 2 presenters Simon Mayo and Ken Bruce.

Martin and Roman Kemp's new podcast

Saturday nights see Martin taking us back to the 1980’s – with The 80s Mixtape with Martin Kemp from 7 – 10pm.

On leaving Capital, Roman said: “It’s been a privilege and an honour to wake up millions of people every day.  It’s the best job in radio and I’ll miss our listeners and the team at Global lots. Whoever the next host of Capital Breakfast is, they’re in for the most incredible ride.”

It’s not the first time the much-loved duo have worked together, either. They previously hosted a weekend breakfast show together on ITV1 and regularly appear together on Celebrity Gogglebox.

The duo’s podcast will be officially announced later this week, but it is understood it will be available via BBC Sounds from May.
