Radio 1’s Dance Party with Danny Howard launches TONIGHT

Radio 1’s Dance Party with Danny Howard launches tonight at 6pm on BBC Radio 1 Dance, the spin-off “stream” from BBC Radio 1.

Available via BBC Sounds, Radio 1 Dance offers dance music fans 24/7 access to the world’s biggest dance tunes, and it’s boosting its schedule to include the new Thursday night show from Danny, plus new shows from Arielle Free and Connor Coates.

Arielle Free now hosts Radio 1 Dance Morning, available Monday to Sunday. Pete Tong is also now curating his Essential History of Dance a weekly show (Saturdays, 7pm – 8pm) dedicated to telling the story of the Dance genre. There will also be a new evening specialist series which will see Radio 1 Dance collaborate with key Dance music labels Defected Records, HE.SHE.THEY. and DnB Allstars. Additionally, Connor Coates presents a daily playlist – Radio 1 Dance – which will come from Northern Ireland, playing the best new, current and classic Dance tracks, and Charlie Hedges’ Radio 1 Dance Anthems will be streamed daily across afternoons.

The new shows come in advance of this year’s Radio 1 Dance Weekends taking place in Ibiza and in Malta.

CamelPhat, Jazzy & Belters Only, Dom Dolla, Gorgon City, Armand Van Helden and more have been announced for Radio 1’s Dance Weekend Ibiza 2024, which will take place on Friday 2 August. 

Continuing their legacy on the island, Radio 1 will be treating listeners and fans on the ground to a night of performances from some of the biggest names in Dance, hosted by the Radio 1 Dance family.

Danny Howard says: “I can’t believe it’s time to get excited for Radio 1 in Ibiza again. It’s been a staple in the summer calendar for years and not only does it showcase the world’s biggest & best DJs but it’s been known to create the most iconic moments in dance on the white isle that are remembered for a lifetime! It’s a special place that started a new chapter at our new home, 528, the stunning outdoor venue up in the Ibiza Hills to which we return this year to make more memories together. Book those flights, get that time off work, pack the suitcase because we’re raving in the sunshine!”

Radio 1 Dance: Malta will take place on Saturday 17th August at UNO Malta.

Radio 1 will be broadcasting live from this very special event where Jax Jones, Jodie Harsh, Lost Frequencies, Solardo, Sonny Fodera + Zerb will join Charlie Hedges to dance the night away.
