Radio 2 in the Park in Preston: Pet Shop Boys, Ticket information and all you need to know…

The Pet Shop Boys are headliners of BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Preston, ahead of tickets going on sale this Tuesday 4 June.

The festival takes place 7th and 8th September 2024 in Preston’s Moor Park.

Latest names announced

Updated: As well as Pet Shop Boys, Zoe Ball has announced the following performers today… Kim Wilde – Craig David – Shaznay Lewis – Travis – PIxie Lott – Sugababes – Snow Patrol – Haircut 100 – Gabrielle – Paul Heaton – Delta Goodrem – Manic Street Preachers – Shed Seven – Sister Sledge (feat. Kathy Sledge) will all be on stage in Moor Park, Preston for our live music extravaganza.

Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2 says: “I’m delighted that this year’s Radio 2 in the Park will take place in Preston. Following last year’s epic extravaganza in Leicester, we can’t wait to head north with our fantastic family of Radio 2 presenters, as well as some of the most loved music artists on the planet, to party with the good people of Lancashire! “

Adrian Phillips, Chief Executive at Preston City Council says: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the BBC to Preston with Radio 2’s flagship live music event, Radio 2 In the Park. As this year’s host city, we’re really excited to be staging two jam-packed days, full of incredible live performances from some of the music world’s biggest stars. This is a brilliant coup for Preston and will be a huge boost for the city. We can’t wait to hear who the line-up is for this year and to welcome thousands of Radio 2 listeners to proud Preston!”

Preston hosted BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2007, and last year Radio 2 in the Park was held in Victoria Park in Leicester featuring headliners Tears for Fears and Kylie Minogue, who performed her world exclusive full concert performance for the first time in four years.

Radio 2 DJs including Spoony, Romesh Ranganathan, Scott Mills and Rylan will also take to the decks in the Radio 2 DJ tent.

Radio 2 in the Park, Preston: Ticket Prices and Information

The following ticket information has been published by the BBC:

Tickets for Radio 2 In The Park will be available to book from this page on Tuesday 4th June at 08:15.

 To be able to queue for tickets you will be required to have a Ticketmaster account. To save time when purchasing your tickets, you can register for a Ticketmaster account now.

Once you have signed into your account and clicked the link, you will be assigned a position in the queue. Please note that if you click the link earlier than 08:15, you will be placed in the waiting room.

When you purchase a ticket you are agreeing to the event Terms and Conditions, so please take some time to read these before proceeding.

Ticket Types

With the exception of children aged 2 years and under, everyone attending the event will need a valid ticket. Children under 18 are not permitted unless accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

A maximum purchase of 6 tickets per person can be purchased for each day of the event.

£59 (+ £5 booking fee) per person

Lancashire Residents – General Admission Tickets 

30% of General Admission tickets will be reserved for purchase for residents within Lancashire. To secure tickets, you will need to enter the postcode of your home address at the time of purchase. Valid postcodes should be entered in full capitals and without any spaces e.g. W1A1AA

Any remaining tickets from this allocation will be made available to all UK postcodes on Tuesday 11th June at 08:15.

Enhanced Area Tickets 

£155 (+ £6.20 booking fee) per person

Enhanced ticket to the event

Experience the magic of Radio 2 In The Park in style!

Enhanced ticket holders will benefit from allocated grandstand seating, a dedicated entrance into the event and an exclusive garden bar. This area will also have artisan catering units selling premium food options and luxury restroom facilities.

Accessible Tickets

Customers requiring accessible facilities at the event should first purchase a ticket. If you are unable attend the event without the support from an Essential Companion, you can apply for a complimentary Essential Companion ticket.

Please do not buy a ticket for your Essential Companion as this will not be refunded if they are approved.

This year we are excited to be partnering with Nimbus Disability and The Access Card, one of the largest disability accreditation organisations. Applications for accessible facilities at Radio 2 In The Park will be open when tickets go on sale, on Tuesday 4th June.

The closing date for all Accessible Facilities applications is Monday 5th August – please note we may not be able to help with requests after this date. Please visit the Accessibility page for full details.

Age Restrictions

With the exception of children aged 2 years and under all those attending the event will need a valid ticket. PLEASE NOTE that anybody aged under 18 MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 and over. Proof of age may be requested upon entry. Tickets should be retained at all times during the event

ID checks may be carried out at the entrance, with the following forms of ID accepted: a valid passport; valid Photocard Driving Licence; or a valid photographic identity card bearing the National Proof Of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram.

Anyone breaking the rules and regulations governing the ticket purchase process may have any purchased tickets cancelled without notice and the BBC will not accept any liability for tickets cancelled in these circumstances.

Saturday 7th September

Gates open: 11:00

Stage entertainment starts: 12:15

Last entry to the event: 20:45

Event ends: 21:45

Sunday 8th September

Gates open: 11:00

Stage entertainment starts: 11:45

Last entry to the event: 20:15

Event ends: 21:15

Will Radio 2 in the Park, Preston be on TV?

Yes! Just like last year, you’ll be able to watch the whole event live on BBC iPlayer and there will be highlights on BBC One as well. You can also listen live or on demand to the event via BBC Sounds.
