JADE is set to go straight to No.1 on this week’s Big Top 40, the UK’s most listened to chart.
Former Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall released debut single Angel of My Dreams this week amidst a wave of publicity and appearances on national radio stations. Her track is out-performing Shaboozey, Miles Smith, Coldplay and Hozier meaning JADE is set to follow in the footsteps of Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jesy who have all topped the Big Top 40 with their debut solo tracks.
“I want people to be like ‘oh my god, I didn’t expect that’ – but then want to listen again” JADE said in a statement. “I didn’t want to do a safe first single, that was really important to me. I’m setting the tone of who I am as an artist on my own. I want people to hear it and be like ‘what the f*** is that song?’. My worst nightmare is for someone to hear my song and go ‘that’s nice.’
“I’m so proud of it and I can say that with chest. The fans have waited long enough so now we just want to give it to them.”
Listen to this week’s Big Top 40 chart from 4pm on Sunday via Global, Capital or Global Player.
