BBC confirms schedule for Eurovision night

The BBC has confirmed schedules for BBC One on Saturday 11 May, Eurovision night.

Stream the best content in 4K UHD with a Humax A1 Streaming box for under £60.

The evening begins at 5.35pm with The Weakest Link Eurovision special. The episode, hosted by Romesh Ranganathan features Duncan James, Cheryl Baker, Sonia, Scott Mills, Tia Kofi, Lauren Layfield, Kate Robbins and Sarah Cawood.

Then at 6.20pm, it’s the first of two brand new episodes of Doctor Who. Ruby learns the Doctor’s amazing secrets when he takes her to the far future. There, they find a baby farm run by babies. But can they be saved from the terrifying bogeyman?

The second episode at 7.05pm is called The Devils Chord. The Doctor and Ruby meet The Beatles but discover that the all-powerful Maestro is changing history. London becomes a battleground with the future of humanity at stake.

From 8pm, it’s the main event. As Olly Alexander flies the flag for the United Kingdom with his song Dizzy at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, Graham Norton provides the commentary, live from Malmö, Sweden.

Twenty-six incredible acts perform in a bid for the most points, but only one will be crowned the new Eurovision champion.

As the nation collectively crosses its fingers for Olly, the show promises spectacular performances ahead of the world-famous, nail-biting results sequence as the all-important points are called out.

Following Loreen’s victory in Liverpool last May, seven-time winner Sweden takes over as host of the much-loved competition. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of ABBA giving Sweden their first iconic win with Waterloo.

Comedian, singer and two-time Eurovision host Petra Mede takes hold of the presenter reins alongside Hollywood star Malin Åkerman.Show less
