News: First images have been released from new BBC drama Lost Boys & Fairies.

The series unveils the heartfelt and captivating narrative of Gabriel, an extraordinary singer and artist, alongside his partner Andy, as they embark on their adoption journey. Leading the cast are Sion Daniel Young, hailing from Cardiff and known for his roles in "The Left Behind" and "Deceit," portraying Gabriel, and the stage and screen sensation Fra Fee, acclaimed for "Cabaret" and "Hawkeye," as Andy. Joining them in the ensemble are notable talents including Elizabeth Berrington from "Stella" and "The Pact," Olivier Award-winning Sharon D Clarke seen in "Showtrial" and "Informer," as well as Maria Doyle Kennedy of "Kin" and "Outlander" fame, among others.

This captivating series, titled "Lost Boys & Fairies," is the brainchild of Welsh writer Daf James, with direction by James Kent, known for works like "The Capture" and "Testament of Youth." It is produced by Duck Soup Films for BBC One, BBC Cymru Wales, and BBC iPlayer, offering viewers a glimpse into Gabriel's journey of self-discovery. This journey takes shape amidst the backdrop of Cardiff, where the production brilliantly brings to life Gabriel's performances at the vibrant queer club-space 'Neverland.' Alongside his pursuit of parenthood, Gabriel grapples with the memories of his childhood and endeavors to mend his relationship with his father.

The series boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Rebekah Wray-Rogers, Libby Durdy, Jessica Brown Meek, Sophie Francis, Daf James, and James Kent from Duck Soup Films, Jo McClellan representing BBC, and Nick Andrews for BBC Cymru Wales. All3International will handle distribution. Notably, "Lost Boys & Fairies" marks Duck Soup Films' debut commission for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and it represents Daf James' inaugural original screenplay for the BBC. The series initially took shape as part of the BBC Writersroom's TV Drama Writers' Programme in 2019.

It's worth noting that Duck Soup Films received support from the BBC's Small Indie Fund in 21/22, an initiative aimed at fostering the growth of small independent production companies with turnovers below £10m.
